CHAPTER 1

The Mantras

The sound is the raw material of the Universe.

Says the Gospel of Saint John that: "At the beginning I was the Verb, and the Verb was with God, and the Verb was God. He made everything and anything than has being done, was made without Him. In Him was Life, and Life was the Light of men".

The worlds and beings that compose the Cosmos were constituted by the sound, by the word, which emanated as the first divine breath. By the sound, the "primitive chaos" was ordered, being systematized in the worlds that we know.

The sound, in the physical world, awakes a corresponding sound in the invisible kingdom, and insights the action of one or another force, in the hidden side of nature.

The sound is the most effective and powerful magic agent and the first of the keys to open the communication door between mortal and immortal.

Each letter has its hidden meaning, its reason of being; they produce effects that will be the cause of new effects. As a general rule, all the religious rites are sung; there is no sect, as less spiritualized as it can be, which does not have its hymns or songs.

As music, the sound is the ideal vehicle, so much for the liberation as for the slavery of men. It maintains the human beings, and of this also resents the animals, in a characteristic emotional state that predisposes them to take attitudes, sometimes the most foolish.

The sound is the great weapon of men and God. In itself it is not good neither bad; its positive or disastrous employment depends exclusively of the wish of man.

In this chapter, we will study the sound that raises the spirit - the mantras, the mystics or consecrated sounds.

The origin of the mantras is in one of the consecrated texts of India (the Vedas), the most wide and older of all, called "Rig Veda", which is a book of metric songs divided into ten denominated parts called "mandalas". For this reason, many translates the mantra word from the Sanskrit, with a meaning of "hymn" or "sung speech".

Other authors consider it practically equivalent, to our word "magic" or "enchantment" once that, under the esoteric point of view, the mantras are at first, magic invocations, used to enchantments, rather then religious prayers.

Etymologic speaking, in Sanskrit, "man" means mind and "tran" means control, in other words, mantra also could be defined as being the combination of sounds that gives us the control of the mind.

Mantras are idiomatic pieces consecrated by the superior use, and its cult varying according to several initiated fraternities, spiritualists' doctrines and religious creeds.

They can constitute of a word, a verse, an aphorism or a spiritual formula; their letters and syllables are of harmonious articulation and when pronounced in a rhythm or peculiar sonority, and under strong mental concentration, they awake in the man's physical organism an uncommon energy, which provides certain detachment or spiritual euphoria.

All these syllables combinations or words, through its rhythmical and continuous repetition originating consequently certain vibrations, results in the production of determined hidden effects.

A mantra should not be only played or sung; it needs to be accompanied by a thought, according to the sounds combination, it needs to be lived.

The "mantra" words have the power in acting on the ethereal and astral body of the man, because they accelerate, harmonize and enlarge the functions of the chakras of the double-eteric. They assist in the best tuning of the thought over the neuron cerebral system and in other manifestations of the physical life.

Exists in these sublime words certain tender and vigorous musicality, which activated can progressively reach the atomic intimacy of the matter changing the intimate cohesion, causing unexpected modifications.

"Mantras" are not constructed, because they would not awake superior spiritual effects in the human soul. Truly, the words themselves are consecrated in "mantras" by its elevated use, transforming itself in true "verbal keys", of uncommon spiritual action, over the several hidden and physical vehicles, that composes the man.

They congregate the energies and the ideas itself of the ones that intone the mantras, associating them with the beneficent psychic forces, which later are converted in rigorous spiritual awakers.

The written or spoken word expresses the language of man, of the tribe, of the people, of the nation or of the race. In consequence, it also defines the temperament, the idealism, the religiosity, the moral conduct, the artistic sense, the culture and the science, and therefore, the spirituality degree or spiritual progress.

Because of this, the magic terms or mantras reveal as well, in its disciplined enunciation and in its ascending rhythm, the character, the force, and the spiritual tenderness of a people. All the characteristics of a people, also creates in the "mantra" a tone or esoteric mark signed in the hidden world, by its mental energy.

For all these reasons, as above described, is that the mantras from a people to another, reveals different shades.

A simple word can unchain, in the human psyche, morbid pictures of all species. As assures the modern medicine, this mental disposition produces a variety of physical alterations, as modifications in the blood, lymphatic, endocrine (glands) and nervous systems.

Before the word "war", for example, which we can consider a negative mantra, the man loosens in his mind a series of images and morbid memories.

Still in a short time ago, the humanity proved the terrible effect of the negative or malign mantras, when the nazism announced trough Germany formulas, badges, insignias and symbols, which, so much by the image as verbally, they aimed in awaking belligerent emotions on the people.

The swastika cross, under the exciting tonality of the red color, acted like a powerful generator; the S.S's black uniforms evoked, in the creatures' subconscious, the dark forces, which feeds and composes, the infernal beings of the diabolical world.

All this stimulated the warrior and destructive temperament of the German people, awaking anguishes, resentments and humiliations suffered in past times, anxious of revenge against other nations.

The defeated people paid during nazi morbid overflow; Hitler, mesmerized by the "mentors of the shadows", used and abused the force of the word in the nazi event, practicing the most shocking and pernicious "verbal sorcery" in the history of the world.

The more we pronounce determined word and think in it, so much more energetic, cohesive and clear is its idiomatic representation and psychophysical vibration.

Words as Love, Peace, Pardon, Hope, Kindness, despite being common vocals and of constant use in the profane world, already own the necessary sense to serve as true mantras, since pronounced in the sonorous rhythm and with the discipline that is appropriate. They belong to sublime vibrations and accumulate creative forces, by the moral expression of the superior idea that is traduced by them.

The word "Buda" is a powerful mantra of esoteric evocation and the name "Krisma" means the same in India.

The vocal "Christ" represents the highest mantrik expression, for the western man in the awakes in his spirit of the virtues of Love, of Renouncement, Kindness and Purity.

The "initiated" that knows how to give course to the sidereal sonorous vibration of the vocal "Christ", is taken of hope and joy and is immune against the problems and cruelties of the world. The Christian's, when dying in the Roman circuses, intoned the song "Ave Christ"; many of them passed away completely anesthetized, just under the vibratory sonorous effect of this sublime word.

As said by our mentor Ramatis: "And yet, there are still men that speak in the "Christ", with the same displicent way in with which they mention the mark of the preferred cigarette".
